PNWJETAA Elections – 2013

With our truly awesome 2012 owari-ed, we’re looking forward to 2013 and a new Steering Council! Are you interested in getting more involved with PNWJETAA and the Japanese and Japanese-American communities? We’ll be supporting future and returning JETs, meeting new and old friends-of-JET, and further developing your professional network!

(and also, we’re awesome)

Elections will be at our 2013 Annual Meeting and Shinnenkai on February 2nd, at Nagomi Tea House (see the post above for details, or buy tickets here).  The positions are for the 2013-2014 term, that runs from February to February.

The steering council is the core group, with an Executive Board comprised of: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and the following committees: Social, Transitions (Career Day), Media Relations, Newsletter, Community Outreach, Membership, and Research and Development.

All members of the steering council attend monthly meetings, work together, and help out with larger events as needed. If you have any ideas for new committees, like outdoor activities or different clubs, please don’t hesitate to give us a shout; we’re always looking to expand our list of different events!

If you’re interested in any of the above positions, please email a brief (very brief!) platform to president@pnwjetaa.org by Friday, February 1st.

You will be introducing yourself to the PNWJETAA communityat at the Annual Meeting and Shinnenkai, so if you cannot attend, please let us know in advance.
