Dear alumni and friends,
We hope you are well as we transition into September and the start of a new season. As many of you know, 2020 marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Pacific Northwest JET Alumni Association as a chapter. While we could not celebrate this milestone last year, we were optimistic that an in-person event would be possible in fall 2021. Unfortunately, this year has seen a number of set-backs, not the least of which being the rise in coronavirus cases and the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant.
After careful consideration and discussion, the PNWJETAA Steering Council has made the difficult decision to postpone all celebrations for the chapter’s 30th anniversary. We want to give this achievement the proper attention it rightfully deserves—not for our own sakes, but for the many alumni like you who have contributed to PNWJETAA throughout its history. We will make further announcements once planning for this event restarts.
In the meantime, please keep connecting with the Steering Council, as well as your fellow alumni and friends of JET, through our Facebook page, group, Instagram, and website. We are still actively working behind the scenes, even if our activities are limited at this time.
Thank you very much for your support, patience, and understanding.
With gratitude,
The PNWJETAA Steering Council
Samantha Corpuz, Jessica Record, and Jeremy Odden (Executive Officers)
